Is brewing beer a form of art? I don’t really know the answer to this question but let's explore both sides of the argument. While brewing beer requires creativity as well as the ability to push the limits on certain styles, there is a distinct scientific side to brewing that can’t be ignored.
Charity Tap featured local food, craft beer and a raffle. 10% of all tap purchases were donated to United Way of Santa Barbara’s nationally-recognized Fun in the Sun (FITS) summer learning program, as well as other collaborative educational initiatives in Santa Barbara County.
Filtered beer or beer that is filtered, if you are trying to sound smart, is beer that has been filtered. Filtering beer is very similar to water filtration. It is a process that takes out the turbidity inside the beer.
Have A Pint & Get All Your Holiday Shopping Done in One Place & For a Good Cause

Have you ever wondered why the head of the beer is a different color than the actual beer itself? What makes it stay stick to the glass and create what we call “lacing” on the cup as you guzzle down your delicious brew? Why do some beers tend to have a nice frothy head all the way to the bottom of the glass while others dissipate rather quickly and pathetically? Let’s explore what we do know about “beer head.”

Pure Order Brewing Co. Sponsors #MySantaBarbaraBusinessExpo
The Annual #MySantaBarbara Business Expo event hosted by the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce was a great success. The event was on September 23 from 4-8pm and featured a diverse group of more than 1500 attendees, customers and businesses from the region. There were different restaurants, breweries and wineries doing tastings throughout the event and a great opportunity to mix and mingle with other business owners and locals.
As YETI describes, “The YETI Presents Stories from the Wild Film Tour invites you to get to know YETI on a more personal level. Over a night of BBQ and beer, YETI will screen some of our most impactful films, sharing YETI stories, products, and badass spirit.”
YETI delivered on their latest tour stop here at our very own Pure Order Brewing Co. Being big fans and supporters of YET, the Pure Order Team was incredibly excited to partner with YETI for this event and screening that featured beer, food, giveaways, and more. 100% of proceeds from the night went to American Rivers, an organization that focuses on river replenishments, “American Rivers protects wild rivers, restores damaged rivers and conserves clean water for people and nature.”
Pure Order Brewing Company recently installed their two bocce ball courts due to a high demand for outdoor games and a dying hops garden as the severe drought is still in effect. The court was constructed with help from some of Pure Order Brewings regulars and is now open for the public to play during open hours, Thursdays t0 Sundays.
Normally you would have to travel to Carpinteria to taste their beers, but fortunately they will be hosting a series of events at the breweries in Santa Barbara to promote the crowdfunding campaign and serve their beers to the public. This past week brewLAB held a kickoff event at SOhO Restaurant and Music Venue alongside the band, Afishnsea the Moon, where they played their promotional video, drank brews, and enjoyed the music. Next Saturday, March 5, from 6 -10 pm at Armada Wine and Beer Merchant, brewLAB will be hosting a tap takeover with five of their incredible beers.
Santa Barbara is high on the list of destination weddings, but it is also high on the list of destination vacations. Besides attending the wedding, there will be days and times when guests find they have opportunities to experience our city by the sea. So here’s a compilation of what you’ll find Santa Barbarans doing on a normal weekend.
This summer, Pure Order Brewery hosts a series of concerts, called“Rhythm & Brews,” featuring concert performances in a variety of genres—upbeat bluegrass, rock, reggae, even a few soulful solo guitar acts—that are sure to satisfy all musical tastes.
At the upcoming concerts, Pure Order will serve their own lineup of beer on tap and will be collaborate with local food trucks to complement the drinks and performances.
For those who like their live music on the tipsy side — i.e., almost everyone — a few fine area establishments are pairing their pours with performances at summer’s onset. Pure Order has kicked off its Rhythm & Brews series this June, with an upcoming show from The Mustangs (mustangssb.com) on June 26.
